Amelie's first wear of her lifejacket

Amelie was given a lifejacket for Christmas but has been too little to wear it. She is still tiny at only 10kg but it now fits so we celebrated with a ride in the boat around the canals at Grammy and Grandad's house.

Ethan is 6 months!

Ethan turned 6 months on 18 April! We celebrated with a day out on the botanical gardens on a beautiful autumn day.

Ethan is now rolling lots and eatings solids! He loves his food and was more than ready for his first taste of life beyond milk pictured here!

But most of all Ethan still looks forward to time on the playmat with his big sister...

If he could just get some time when she was awake!

Ethan is admitted to hospital

Ethan was rushed to Emergency in March suffering from severe respiratory distress caused by narrowed airways from bronchiolitis. He was extremely sick and was in the ICU on a ventilator for a week and on the ward for a further week. It was a very stressful time for everyone, especially Ethan who went through an incredible amount of unpleasant tests and procedures. He recovered well and is now healthy again. It was a big reminder how precious and fragile little babies are!

Playtime in March

Amelie and Ethan continue to become more and more playful. Amelie amazes us how grown up she has become. She holds tea-parties in her Dora tent, 'talks' on the phone, and has a great time chatting with all her soft, furry friends!

Ethan loves watching other people. He shares tummy time with Ruby and loves the attention he now gets from his big sister!

Ethan finds his voice / Ethan se fait entendre

Ethan is now 4 1/2 months and has begun making lots of baby talk. Early in the morning is his favourite time for a chat. / Ethan a 4 mois 1/2 maintenant et essaye deja de communiquer. Le matin au reveil est son moment favoris pour papoter.

Amelie joins playgroup/ Amelie a la garderie

Amelie has joined a playgroup this year and is really enjoying time with so many other children. Especially now she is so good at walking and can keep up with everyone! / Amelie a integree une garderie cette annee. Elle s'amuse comme une folle avec les autres enfants. Maintenant qu'elle arrive a marcher, elle court apres tout le monde.

Ethan begins to make friends!/ Ethan commence a se faire des amis!

Ethan is really strarting to interact with other little people. He adores his big sister who gives lots of cuddles and kisses now. / Ethan commence a communiquer avec les autres bebes. Il adore sa grande soeur qui lui fait tout le temps des bisous et des calins.

Amelie passes Ethan his soap. He is too little to wash himself Amelie! Lucky Dad is there to help. / Amelie donne le savon a Ethan. Il est encore trop petit pour se laver tout seul Amelie!


Ethan is now much more settled and loves his bathtime! / Ethan est de plus en plus eveille et adore passer du temps dans son bain.



He also loves having his picture taken. / Il adore aussi se faire prendre en photo.

And is getting very strong from all his tummy time. / Il devient vraiment costaud en passant beuacoup de temps sur son bidon.

Ethan also had his very first playdate with Ruby Smith who is 2 months younger. Ruby made it clear who was boss with a bit of a biff on the nose but Ethan thinks she is fab and can't wait to spend more time with her! / Ethan a eu son premier bebe rendez-vous galant avec sa copine Ruby Smith. Ruby lui a montre tout de suite qui portait la culotte en lui donnant une tappe sur le nez mais Ethan pense qu'elle est geniale et attends avec impatience de la revoir.

New tricks

Amelie and Ethan are growing so fast. They each are doing new things each day. / Amelie et Ethan grandissent si vite. Ils decouvrent de nouvelles choses chaque jour.


Amelie is now determined to feed herself. But most of it misses her mouth. / Amelie veut absolument manger toute seule maintenant. Le seul probleme c'est que elle manque sa bouche la plupart du temps.



Dad has enlisted Amelie's help in the cleanup. / Papa a embaucher Amelie pour l'aider a faire le menage.

She even attempts to brush her own teeth. She now has 3 with the arrival of a front one. / Elle essaye meme de se brosser les dents toute seule. Elle en a deja 3 avec une nouvelle qui arrive.

Amelie is warming to her little brother and just can't give him enough cuddles. / Amelie prends soin de son petit-frere et ne peut pas s'empecher de lui faire des montagnes de calins.

She even lets him share her special storytime with Dad. / Elle le laisse meme partager la lecture de son livre favori avec papa.

Grandad has also been teaching Amelie a few things including how to put together Ethan's cot. / Papi a also appris a Amelie quelques astuces et lui a donne un coup de main pour assembler le lit d'Ethan.

Meanwhile, Ethan has been mastering the art of getting cuddles from anyone he can.

/ Pendant ce temps Ethan en a profiter pour se faire caliner par tout le monde.

Grandad is especially willing! / Papi en a vraiment profite.

Ethan is more and more active and alert every day. Tummy time on the bed with Amelie entertaining him from below is always a favourite activity. / Ethan est de plus en plus eveille. Passer du temps sur son bidon est une de ses activites favorites.

Christmas 2009/ Noel 2009

We all had Christmas Day at Andrea and Jimmy's new house this year. Amelie enjoyed opening her Christmas presents. There were so many! Dad was especially excited by the baby lifejacket. / Cette anne on a fete Noel dans la nouvelle maison de Jimmy et d'Andrea. Amelie a passe des heures a ouvrir ses cadeaux. Il y a tellement!

Christmas Eve at Moolooaba beach. Santa visited us with the lifesavers! / La nuit de Noel a la plage de Mooloolaba. Le Pere-Noel nous a rendu visite avec l'equipe des sauveteurs.

Seems even Santa likes a cold beer during summer! / Il semble que meme le Pere-Noel aprecit une biere fraiche pendant l'ete.
